it is amazing to see that it was badly written the name of Vincent Niclo hard this dvd!!! (niclo"T") and that person does is considered correct! From the book of the same name to Pasternak, the script written by Robert Bolt is exceptional. The super-production, the most expensive film in the history of cinema at the time, had to be performed by a master in the field of epic tales, great historic murals, David Lean. A very good cast, Omar Sharif is outstanding, as well as all the female roles. A great love story on the background of the Russian Revolution. Even if sometimes the movie is a bit cartoonish, it's still a great classic to enjoy without moderation! This masterpiece here is simply transformed into a blueray. The transfer here is simply outstanding and you can totally rediscover the film : details galore, a colorimetric beautiful... Not much more to say except that for a library of HD, it is essential. I have so often watched The Wizard of Oz, in the original version, from the age of 12 years, I can only say : excellent film, music to sing head, etc today I want to show it to my French-speaking children, but here it is : the DVD does not offer a French version! My only complaint is that the horrors of this time were muted by the director. Beatings and executions take place off camera and Germans appear only fleetingly. I had the pleasure of discovering this film a dozen people (one of my favorite movies :-), and everyone is left stunned. The staging is surgical precision, a simplicity that borders on the purity, and never yield to the facility to artifice. However, Bresson takes us in the journey of his character with such ease, that one would want to show this film to any film student to make him understand that it is useless to look for the seduction. The authenticity, the intelligence above all. The rest will follow (and the general public ;-) ). an interesting film of 1959 Jean Pierre Melville. Himself plays Moreau the journalist who is looking for a delegate of the UN, who has disappeared. He will get help from a photographer, alcoholic, Delmas (Pierre Grasset). They go to visit three women who had been taken in a photo with this famous diplomat. One of them will attempt suicide after their passage. As Delmas will have the satisfaction of a duty accomplished when he found the person sought all night, as his colleague will have a different reaction... One feels in this film in black and white all the fascination of an american town at night on Melville. The music is superb and goes well with the words. Although not remastered, the picture is quite beautiful. Many of the scenes are in English, non-English speakers will need subtitles. No bonus on the DVD. An extraordinary film! The history, the achievement, the music is masterful! And then there is Charlton Heston! The version Blu Ray disc is magnificent, the picture and the sound especially are gorgeous....
